Opening Ceremony of Confucius Classroom

On September 29, 2017, Confucius Classroom Opening Ceremony was held in Riga Secondary School 34.
Nearly 100 people, including Chinese Embassy in Latvia Counselor Mr. Li Tao, Riga Secondary School 34 Head Ms. Nataļja Rogaļeva and Deputy Head Ms. Marina Grečanina, Deputy of the Riga City Council Ms Anna Vladova, the directors of Confucius Institute at the University of Latvia Professor Shang Quanyu and Professor Pēteris Pildegovičs, Riga Culture School and Jelgava Spīdola gymnasium representatives, Chinese volunteer teachers, Riga Secondary School 34 teachers, students and their parents, Xinhua News Agency, Latvian television and other media representatives, attended the event.
The guests observed “Destination: China” exhibition of students’ paintings and photos related to Chinese culture. After theatrical performances and guest addresses to the audience, a group photo was taken. Subsequently, the guests followed the Chinese language teacher Ms Evita Kalme and Chinese volunteer teacher Miss Wu Wei to the door of the Confucius Classroom, where Ms. Nataļja Rogaļeva and Mr.Li Tao unveiled the Bronze Plate for Riga Secondary School 34 Confucius Classroom. Ms.Evita Kalme and Miss Wu Wei introduced to everyone the history of the Classroom foundation. The principal presented fine gifts to the guests and to the winners of Visual Art Competition. The event ended in a happy and relaxed atmosphere.
