Projects
Erasmus + “Grow Green Generation” was held (2022-2023)
The group of 10-grade and 11-grade students from Latvia (Riga Secondary School 34), Italy (IPSSEOA Bernardo Buontalenti), and Spain (GOING FORAMONTANOS) met on 27 February till 3 March in Florence, where the most significant project Erasmus + “Grow Green Generation” was held (2022-2023).
The group of 10-grade and 11-grade students from Latvia (Riga Secondary School 34), Italy (IPSSEOA Bernardo Buontalenti), and Spain (GOING FORAMONTANOS) met on 27 February till 3 March in Florence, where the most significant project Erasmus + “Grow Green Generation” was held (2022-2023).
The main aim of the project was to create possible solutions that will help us keep our planet and nature around us protected in the future, taking care of natural resources.
During the project work, participants shared work strategies, and analyzed issues about the importance of environmental problems, particularly focusing on renewable energy sources and their recycling. Participants host New York University’s Villa La Pietra (garden and farmland) and the school's eco-farm.
In a friendly atmosphere, pupils joined and participated in various activities and educational workshops, practicing foreign languages and broadening their minds. Groups from Latvia, Italy, and Spain presented their final research, on which they were working hard throughout the project.
The presentation took place on 1 March at the conference at Italian School (IPSSEOA Bernardo Buontalenti), where each of the project’s members offered a response to questions:
Latvia: Why is it so important for our well-being to be sustainable?
Spain: Why is it so important to ban plastic from the oceans?
Italy: Why is it so important to ban disposable materials in the catering industry?
The conference was attended not only by students but also by the Italian Buontalenti School Administration, ecologists from Museo Salvatore Ferragamo, professors from Instituto Marangoni Florence and from the University of New York, and teachers from the schools of Florence, Spain and Latvia.
The work went so smoothly that 6 days passed unnoticed, and it was very sad to say goodbye. Many pupils stay in touch beyond the project and someday may meet again.
